400 Liters of Fuel missing at Radisson Blu Hotel

Four hundred liters of fuel has been reportedly stolen at one of Sierra Leone’s five star hotels in Freetown. In that regards, the hotel has brought before the court three accused persons alleging that they are the people that stole the said fuel. The Three accused persons Saidu Bangura, Morlai Osaio Turay and Abubakarr Sesay on Wednesday 4th September 2019 made their second appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at Court No.2 for stealing 400 Liters of fuel from Radisson Blu Hotel. The accused persons were arraigned in court on two count charges of conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

Court files revealed that the accused persons on Saturday 29, June 2019 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Aberdeen conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny. It was alleged that the accused persons on the same date and place stole 20 fuel rubbers containing 400 Liters of diesel fuel valued Le 3,400,000 property of Radisson Blu Hotel. In his testimony eye witness, Kassim Basma, explained that while sitting in his car at around 6:30pm on the day of the incident he saw two men transferring fuel into empty rubbers. He furthered that he saw the men filling up the rubber and transporting them to the helipad for safe keeping. Bassam mentioned that he counted about 20 rubbers of fuel being transported from the Hotel, and that at the time of the incident there was a tree covering the CCTV camera at the hotel. He adde that he decided to take some pictures and videos with his Huawei mobile 3I mobile phone. He said he had to Google search Radisson Blu hotel and took their number and gave a call. He said he explained what he saw happening at the back of the hotel’s compound to the Manager and also informed them that he would forward the evidence he gathered to them. The matter was prosecuted by A.S.P Hawa Bah and the matter was adjourned to Thursday 12th September, 2019.
