A total budgeted electricity purchase for 2020 from both Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC) and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) is 548,603,932 KWh. According to the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) quantity purchases from EGTC Freetown including other Provinces is said to be 239,154,921.60 KWh, Karpowership is 279,256,210.00 KWh and IPP from Bo and Kenema is 30,192,800.00 KWh. The cost of buying power from EGCT is based on an agreed cost price of Le877.50/KWh, average cost from Karpowership is Le1,961.50/KWh and other IPPs constitute 8% of the total direct cost. An analysis of the EDSA achievements for 2018 during their Budget presentation showed that they have increased power evacuation within the Freetown network from an average of 41 MW in 2018 to an average of 51.6 MW in 2019.

Their energy sales nationwide have also increased from an average of 21.344 MWh/Month in 2018 to an average of 25.591 MWh/Month in 2019. This is measured by their monthly revenue increase from Le27.2 billion in 2018 to Le36.6 billion in 2019. In addition monthly energy recovery from illegal abstraction increased from 279 MWh in 2018 to 471.7 MWh in 2019 which amounts to an increase from Le378 million in 2018 to Le882 million in 2019. They have also increase their customer base to 197,923 in August 2019 from 159,888 in March 2017. In addition to replacement of 28,000 meters between Non STS Meters, Postpaid Migration and Faulty Meters.
