CAF Appoints Somalia’s Ahmed Hassan Hussein Ahmed to Officiate East End Lions vs. Jaraaf FC First Leg Match

Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Somalia’s Ahmed Hassan Hussein Ahmed to officiate the first leg of the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifier between Sierra Leone’s East End Lions and Senegal’s Association Sportif et Culturel Jaraaf.

Ahmed Hassan Hussein Ahmed will be supported by fellow Somalian officials, with Ali Mohamed Mahad serving as Assistant Referee 1 (AR1) and Mowlid Rage Ali as Assistant Referee 2 (AR2). The fourth official for the match will be Nur Muhudin Muhudin, also from Somalia. The match commissioner for this fixture is Ivan Gartor Brown from Liberia.

The first leg is set to take place today, August 18, 2024, at the Southern Arena in Bo, Sierra Leone. The second leg is scheduled for August 25, 2024, at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal. For this return match, a team of officials from Niger, led by Referee Sadou Ali Brahamou, will take charge. The match commissioner for the second leg will be Luis Manuel Caravalho Semedo from Cape Verde.

The winner of this tie will advance to the second preliminary round, where they will face either UTS or RC Abidjan to compete for a place in the group stage of the competition. BT/18/8/2024
