Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – A landmark moment unfolded as the Desert Flower Foundation inaugurated the Dr. Manfred Educational Center at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Community in Aberdeen, Freetown, marking a significant leap forward in advancing educational prospects in the region.
Named in honour of Dr. Manfred Jäger, the center stands as a testament to philanthropy and a steadfast commitment to education. Made possible through the generosity of Dr. Jäger’s son, Christian Jäger, and led by Desert Flower Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, the initiative underscores a collective endeavor aimed at bolstering educational infrastructure in alignment with government and community objectives.
Addressing attendees at the ceremony, Rev. Fr. Peter A. Konteh expressed profound gratitude to all involved, emphasizing the center’s pivotal role as a beacon of hope and catalyst for transformative change through education. Despite challenges encountered during the project’s implementation, including land acquisition and construction delays, Fr. Konteh expressed unwavering optimism regarding the center’s completion and its potential to drive community development.
