Freetown, SIERRA LEONE, June 28, 2025 – Sierra Leone’s legendary hip-hop powerhouse, Black Leo Records, has officially reignited the flames of lyrical warfare with the release of “Dodge The Bullet”—a blistering new single from rising talent K. Rap.
The track, which dropped as a teaser for the highly anticipated Black Leo Compilation 2025 (set for release in December), is already shaking up the local music scene. And make no mistake—K. Rap isn’t here to play nice.
Firing off sharp bars and calling out his rivals without flinching, K. Rap takes aim at rappers who, in his words, “run to the cops” instead of standing their ground on stage. It’s a bold declaration of war against anyone ducking lyrical showdowns—and a clear message that Black Leo is back in battle mode.
The track doesn’t shy away from controversy either. K. Rap takes a pointed shot at rival crew Red Flag Muzik (RFM), advising them to “swallow their pride and beg” former member Teteh if they hope to stay relevant in today’s competitive scene.
“Dodge The Bullet” pulses with raw energy and unfiltered swagger. “Black Leo is unmatched,” K. Rap declares. “We don’t fear anyone.” The song is laced with bravado, but also backed by skill, delivery, and sharp production.
That production comes courtesy of beat wizard Mic Junho, who lays down a cinematic soundscape worthy of a hip-hop duel. With layered beats and dramatic flair, the instrumental echoes the vibe of a kung-fu showdown—an “Enter the Dragon” moment, as label boss Kao Denero described it.
Kao Denero himself features in the outro, closing the track with a statement that feels more like a warning than a farewell. “This is what real hip-hop sounds like,” he says, calling the record a “warrior’s anthem” for the culture.
But “Dodge The Bullet” is just the opening shot. Black Leo has been on a quiet recruitment spree, pulling in top-tier talent like Rap Gee and Mikeo D Don—both formerly of RFM—further solidifying their grip on the game.
As December approaches, anticipation for the Black Leo Compilation 2025 is reaching a fever pitch. And with K. Rap leading the charge, the message is clear: Black Leo isn’t just back—they’re taking no prisoners. MJB/28/6/2025
