Kamboi Eagles and Star Sport Academy Secure Promotion to Premier League

Freetown, SIERRA LEONE — In an exciting Division One playoff held on August 29, 2024, Kamboi Eagles and Star Sport Academy clinched their spots in the Sierra Leone Premier League for the upcoming season.

In the first semifinal, Kamboi Eagles, relegated to Division One last year, made a triumphant return to the top flight. They secured their promotion with a commanding 3-1 victory over Masoya FC. Goals from Frank Alison, Tejan Loco Jalloh, and Alusine Sharka ensured Kamboi Eagles’ comeback to the Premier League after a year’s absence. Their return is celebrated not only in Kenema and the Eastern Region but across the nation, as Kamboi Eagles remain a storied name in Sierra Leonean football.

In the second semifinal, Star Sport Academy emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win against Abacha City. This result solidified their place in the Premier League for the next season.

With Kamboi Eagles and Star Sport Academy having secured their promotions, attention now turns to the final spot in the Premier League. The remaining position will be contested between Masoya FC and Abacha City, who will face off on August 30, 2024. The winner of this match will complete the trio of newly promoted teams for the upcoming season.

Additionally, Kamboi Eagles and Star Sport Academy are set to compete in the grand finale of the Division One playoffs.
