The award ceremony, held on May 3, 2025, brought together some of the continent’s biggest and most influential music icons. Among the nominees in the fiercely contested Best Rapper category were industry heavyweights such as Sarkodie (Ghana), MI Abaga (Nigeria), Khaligraph Jones (Kenya), and Nasty C (South Africa). Yet, it was Kaodenero who clinched the top prize, earning applause across Africa for his artistry and growing influence.
Speaking after his victory, a visibly elated Kaodenero stated,
“Winner of the Best Hip-Hop Act at the Africa Golden Awards in Nairobi, Kenya 2025. We keep making Sierra Leone proud on the global scene.”
He further added,
“Thanks to all those who voted for my victory. This marks the second time I’ve won ahead of Africa’s best – Sarkodie, Khaligraph Jones, MI, and Nasty C. Big things do come from small places.”
The Africa Golden Awards is one of the continent’s premier platforms celebrating excellence in innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, and the creative arts.
