Leone Rock Premier League Match Week 27 Postponed

Date:

Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Sierra Leone Premier League Board has officially announced the postponement of Match Week 27 of the Leone Rock Premier League, which was initially scheduled to run from Wednesday, June 18 to Friday, June 20, 2025.

According to the Board, the decision comes in light of the ongoing Referees MA Course currently underway in Bo City, Southern Sierra Leone. The course, which commenced on Monday, June 16, is expected to conclude over the weekend, prompting the need to reschedule league fixtures.

The Board extends its sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and expresses appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of all clubs, match officials, fans, and other stakeholders.

As the league heads into its final stretch, the competition remains fierce. All teams have completed 23 matches, with 11 games remaining to determine the season’s champions and relegation survivors.

East End Lions currently top the table with 48 points, followed by Bhantal FC in second place with 41 points. A tight pack of five teams — FC Kallon, Bai Bureh Warriors, defending champions Bo Rangers FC, Old Edwardians, and Wilberforce Strikers — are all tied on 37 points, making the battle for the top spots increasingly intense.

Meanwhile, the relegation zone features four struggling sides: Mighty Blackpool, Kamboi Eagles, Ports Authority, and Freetown City FC, all fighting to stay afloat in the top tier of Sierra Leonean football.

New dates for the rescheduled fixtures will be communicated in due course. BT/18/6/2025
