Rabat, Morocco — November 4, 2024
Sierra Leone’s Ambassador-designate to Morocco, His Excellency Alhaji Momodu Koroma, arrived in Morocco on Sunday, November 3, 2024, to officially commence his diplomatic duties.
Ambassador Koroma was warmly welcomed by the Embassy staff in Rabat, led by the Head of Chancery, Mr. James Sylvanus Lebbie. The new ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended to him by the team.
With extensive experience in public service and diplomacy, Ambassador Koroma is poised to strengthen Sierra Leone’s strategic relationship with Morocco for mutual benefit. He has a notable background, having served in various capacities within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and under the late President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.
As Sierra Leone’s second ambassador to Morocco, following H.E. Atumanni Dainkeh, Ambassador Koroma will prioritize economic diplomacy, which is expected to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in light of recent trade agreements between the two nations.
The Sierra Leone Embassy in Rabat was established by President Julius Maada Bio on August 27, 2021, to deepen bilateral relations and promote investment in Sierra Leone. Ambassador Koroma’s extensive experience is anticipated to further solidify these ties and create new opportunities for collaboration.
