Bo, SIERRA LEONE – The Pastors’ Wives Association, operating under the motto “Supportive Women,” held its Second Annual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Believers Assembly Ministry in Bo.

This year’s celebration, themed “The Power of Unity,” brought together pastors’ wives and their husbands, members of various churches, the media, and other invited guests in a vibrant show of fellowship and solidarity.

In her keynote address, Reverend Mrs. Jacqueline Nyarko, Founder and Visioneer of the association, explained that the event serves as a platform to empower pastors’ wives through encouragement, prayer, and mutual support. She highlighted the importance of their role not only as partners in ministry but also as pillars of strength within their homes and communities.

Rev. Nyarko emphasized that the association is inter-denominational, welcoming members from across different church traditions. She said the organization aims to strengthen the spiritual and social capacities of pastors’ wives through various activities, including retreats, fasting, prayer sessions, biblical teaching, counseling, and mentorship programs.

“Pastors’ wives are not just companions to their husbands,” Rev. Nyarko stated. “They are leaders, change agents, and role models in the Kingdom of God. We must equip and support them to rise to this divine calling.”

She also noted that the Pastors’ Wives Association is formally registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare and has made significant strides since its official launch in 2023. The Bo thanksgiving marked the association’s second since inception.

A highlight of this year’s gathering was the launch of the Pastors’ Wives Financial Empowerment Support program—an initiative aimed at providing economic opportunities and support for members.

Delivering the sermon, Rev. Mrs. Santa Johnson of New Harvest Ministries spoke passionately on the theme “The Power of Unity.” She reminded the congregation that unity is essential for spiritual growth and societal progress. She warned against division and complacency, noting that disunity often undermines the work of the church.

“We must guard against the enemy’s tactics to divide us,” she urged. “Unity is not just a theme—it is a divine requirement for the Body of Christ to flourish.”

The event concluded with prayers, songs of praise, and renewed commitment from the pastors’ wives to support one another and serve faithfully in their various ministries. PK/28/5/2025
