Port Loko, SIERRA LEONE – As the race for Port Loko city’s Mayoral seat intensifies among political parties in the Northwestern  city,  Alieu Badara Kanu (B-9) one of the four aspirants for the Mayoral ticket under the main opposition All People’s Congress, on Tuesday 28th March, 2023 supported female worshippers of Falaba Road Mosque with assorted food items.

The team was led by the wife of the mayoral aspirant, Mrs. Magdalene Kanu, who explained that “the essence of the donation is to help the Muslim community especially women during the blessed month of Ramadan.”

Worshippers clamber for the donation

She furthered that the donation which includes cups of rice, Maggie and other cooking items is part of her husband’s continued effort to change the lives of residents within Port Loko city. “My husband was a school teacher who changed many lives in this city before this time, and now he’s a Mayoral aspirant for the upcoming general elections, his main focus is to build this city as part of his strides towards nation building, and If he’s given the opportunity and becomes the next Mayor of the city, I’m sure he will continue the good work”, she added.

Some of the beneficiaries I interviewed applauded the donation saying: “at this time of the fasting period when things are hard, B9’s wife Mrs. Magdalene and her team stepped up to try and put smiles on our faces, we appreciate them and pray that Allah Almighty grant them their wishes.”AIM/29/3/2023
