Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Emerging Sierra Leonean artist Hyven Snt is rapidly making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Since bursting onto the scene, the talented singer has released a string of hits accompanied by high-quality visuals, gaining fame not just in Freetown, but throughout the entire country.
Abdul Karim Kamara Jr., known professionally as Hyven Snt (pronounced “Heaven Sent”), was born on September 19, 1993, in Dworzack, a suburb of Freetown. He began singing at a young age and started writing his own songs at just 15. By the time he turned 20, he began recording music, but it wasn’t until five years later, after focusing on his education, that he pursued music professionally.
In 2018, Hyven Snt caught the attention of renowned Nigerian producer Tunexbeatz, who helped him produce several songs that year. His debut single, “Are Sabi Dae,” is a celebrated Sierra Leonean RnB classic, while his follow-up, “Wankanda Love,” which blends traditional RnB with Dancehall, earned him nominations for major awards and significant performances, including shows at the National Stadium in Freetown. These achievements solidified his status in the entertainment industry.
After a lengthy hiatus from 2020 to 2024 due to personal reasons, Hyven Snt is set to make a triumphant return with his new single, “Cry,” a traditional RnB track featuring Afro-depression sounds produced by Joshbeatz.
Fans can also look forward to an album release later this year, along with exciting surprise collaborations. MJB/28/9/2024
