Sierra Leone Secures First Win in ICC U19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier

Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Sierra Leone’s U19 women’s cricket team celebrated their first victory in the ongoing ICC U19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Africa Division 2 qualifier in Kigali. They achieved a decisive 9-wicket win over Eswatini on Saturday, August 24, 2024, following three previous matches in the tournament.

Eswatini batted first, scoring 33/10 in 16 overs. Sierra Leone responded with a swift and commanding 34/1 in just 2.4 overs. Emma Kamara led the charge, earning the Woman of the Match award for her outstanding performance.

This victory boosts Sierra Leone’s position in the standings as they prepare for their upcoming matches. Their next game is scheduled for Monday, August 26, 2024, against Lesotho, followed by a match against Botswana on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
