Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The much-anticipated maiden edition of the Silma Cricket Premier League is set to spark a new era of cricket participation in Sierra Leone, according to Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) Board Chairman, Francis Trevor Samura. The tournament, which officially kicked off this Sunday at the Prince of Wales School Cricket Oval, is an exciting initiative aimed at increasing local engagement in the sport through an Asian-led effort.
At the opening ceremony, Samura emphasized the significance of the tournament, noting that it would not only raise the profile of cricket in Sierra Leone but also encourage greater investment from the Indian community in local cricket development. The Silma Cricket Premier League features eight competitive teams and will run for five weeks, with 15 thrilling matches scheduled.
