Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Tommy’s Professional Football Club, formerly known as Tom Football Club, took center stage at a special event held at the Wusum Stadium in Makeni. The occasion marked the official presentation of their 33-man squad—comprising 25 players and nine officials—as they embark on their journey toward securing a coveted spot in the national playoff of the ongoing 2023/24 season.
The unveiled squad boasts a comprehensive composition, featuring 10 defenders, seven midfielders, and eight forwards. Among the standout selections were the former Seattle Football Club captain, Tejan Kella, a proficient central defender, and the promising goalkeeper, Alhaji Musa Conteh, hailing from the T.K Born and Raised Academy.
The coaching team was also introduced during the event, led by Head Coach Abu Bangura, supported by assistants Chernor Amadu Sesay and Abass Kalokoh. The officials unveiled included seasoned journalist and administrator Adams Lilson Koroma serving as the Secretary, and Moses Titus Kanu appointed as the Team Manager, among others.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow teammates, Skipper Tejan Kella expressed gratitude for the dignified ceremony, emphasizing how it affirmed their value as players. Kella clarified that his contract with his former club Seattle had expired, paving the way for a fresh chapter as he commits to a two-year tenure with Tommy’s Professional.
Looking ahead with determination, Kella, known for his tenacious defending, set high aspirations for the club. “Having steered my former club to the national playoff, my objective now is to surpass previous achievements by leading Tommy’s Professional into the 2023/24 Leone Rock Premier League,” confidently affirmed the skipper.
