Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Popular female musician and former partner of Sierra Leone’s hip-hop ambassador Kao Denero, Delvaqyo, has come out swinging on social media—firmly drawing a line between her personal peace and past drama.

Her defiant message followed a wave of criticism after she performed alongside rapper King Boss LAJ at the recent Sugarland show. Many fans and critics saw the collaboration as a betrayal, given LAJ’s history with Kao Denero and their long-standing feud between the Red Flag Movement (RFM) and Black Leo.

But Delvaqyo made it clear—she’s no longer living under anyone’s shadow.

“I no longer allow people to cause chaos in my life. I’ve learned that I deserve peace,” she said in a statement on her social media. The message signaled a bold new chapter for the singer, who appears determined to reclaim her narrative and distance herself from the conflicts tied to her past relationship with Kao Denero.

“My ex’s enemies are not my enemies,” she emphasized, dismissing the notion that her loyalties must mirror those of her former partner. “This life is the only thing that’s truly mine, and I refuse to feel guilty for choosing tranquility.”

Her response was laced with both sass and seriousness. Addressing critics who called her out for aligning with LAJ’s camp, she didn’t hold back:
“Be warned, so you don’t end up with blood pressure. The more you insult and backbite us, the more rebellious we’ll become.”

Delvaqyo revealed that her split from Kao Denero happened over three years ago, insisting she has long moved on. “Me don moved on long time ago, na over three years so now,” she stated, reminding followers that she’s been on a personal journey of growth and independence.

She even injected humor into her fiery rebuttal, jokingly offering “candy” to her critics:
“Una still bitter over me matter. Are need for gee una candy make small sweetness dae na una system. Una too bitter,” she said, mocking the relentless gossip that surrounds her.

As for those who still feel entitled to her life choices, Delvaqyo had a simple message:
“You can’t tell me what to do with my life. My life. My rules. That’s on period.”

The singer also teased an upcoming single titled “ONLY YOU” featuring King Boss LAJ, using the phrase “KONG for a reason” to hype the collaboration.

With her sharp words and unapologetic stance, Delvaqyo is clearly carving out a path of her own—one free from the rivalries of the past, and full of confidence, music, and self-defined freedom. MJB/3/5/2025
