Kallon set for 2 weeks Genoa first-team training camp in Austria

Date:

Yayah Kallon, who made his Serie A debut in Genoa1-0 over Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena in May, is set to be part of the Red and Blues two weeks training camp from July 12th to 26th in Neustift, Austria.

The 20-year-old Sierra Leonean attacker was a pivotal figure in the game that boosted their 11th placed Serie A finish.

A rossoblù Primavera youngster has joined the likes of Mohamed Kallon, Kewullay Conteh, Rodney Strasser and Augustus Kargbo with a proud Serie A experience.

Without doubt, Kallon’s 11 goals tally and 12 assists in 33 games prompted manager Davide Ballardini to hand him a chance for his Serie A debut.

Recapping his ordeal, Kallon said, “In the year 2017/2018, I trained with Genoa without playing an official match. In the year 2018/19, I went to Savona FBC (Serie D) before returning to Genoa for the 2019/2020 campaign where I am presently playing.”

“I was pleased after making my debut with Genoa during our last game in May. I scored, but the goal was disallowed. He joked” Prior to my debut, I scored 11 goals and gave 12 assists in 33 games with the Genoa CFC under-19 Primavera side,” Kallon to FSL News.

“My best position is as a second striker because I like moving freely.”

When asked about his chances of making the first team, he said, “I am hoping to keep developing during the summer training, but it is going to be difficult.

Meanwhile, the new edition of Serie A 2021-22 will kick off from 22nd August 2021. All the matches will take place between 22nd August 2021 to 22nd May 2021.
