OLD EDWARDIANS SEEK REVENGE AS BO RANGERS VISIT KINGTOM IN CRUNCH LEAGUE CLASH

Date:

Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In what promises to be a fiery encounter, Old Edwardians will lock horns with defending champions Bo Rangers FC today at the SLFA Academy in Kingtom, with both teams desperate for victory to boost their league ambitions.

The hosts, still reeling from their 3-1 first-leg defeat at the Southern Arena, are out for redemption. Under the guidance of Technical Director John A. Sesay—who has taken charge following the sudden resignation of head coach Junior Konneh—Old Edwardians are determined to turn the tables. A win would lift them to 29 points from 18 matches, keeping their top-half hopes alive.

But Bo Rangers, sitting comfortably near the summit, have no intention of easing up. Their Public Relations Officer assured fans that the team is “focused, determined, and fully prepared” for the challenge. Traveling with a 21-man squad, the defending champions are eyeing another crucial victory to push their tally to 33 points and maintain their title charge.

Elsewhere, struggling Freetown City FC, rooted at the bottom with just 12 points, will host mid-table FC Kallon at the Approved School Playing Field. The hosts are fighting for survival, needing a third win in 18 matches to inch closer to safety. However, even a victory may not be enough to lift them out of the drop zone.

FC Kallon, meanwhile, are chasing their seventh win of the season, which would take them to 27 points and strengthen their push for a top-half finish.

The action continues on Sunday with three key fixtures:

  • Wilberforce Strikers vs. Wusum Stars (SLFA Academy)
  • Diamond Stars vs. Stars Sport Academy (Koidu Playing Field)
  • Ports Authority vs. Luawa FC (Approved School)

With the league reaching its climax, every point counts. Will Old Edwardians exact revenge, or will Bo Rangers tighten their grip on the title race? Football fans are in for a thrilling weekend! BT/10/5/2025
