Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Shalimar Trading Limited has donated over 200 bags of cement to the spouses of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) at Murray Town Barracks in Freetown.
The donation, spearheaded by the company’s CEO, Mr. Moussa Mroue, aims to support the construction of a multipurpose building and other essential amenities for military families. Known for his humanitarian efforts, Mroue emphasized the critical role played by RSLAF wives in fostering community growth and stability.
“As a company committed to national development, we are proud to support the hardworking women behind our brave soldiers. This donation is a token of our appreciation for their resilience and dedication,” Mroue stated during the handover ceremony.
The RSLAF Wives Cooperative Society (RWCS) expressed profound gratitude for the gesture. Madam Hassanatu S. Bangura, President of RWCS, hailed the donation as a timely intervention. “This cement will go a long way in addressing some of our infrastructural challenges. We are deeply thankful to Shalimar for this generous support,” she said.
Fatmata Dumbuya, a member of the cooperative, echoed the sentiment, assuring that the materials would be put to good use. “Despite our struggles with inadequate facilities, this donation brings hope. We believe it will significantly improve our living conditions,” she remarked.
